Pre-requisites to Rooting

Before we get started, you’ll need to make sure that your device is compatible with this rooting process. These are the models of the Galaxy Note 2 that will work.

  • International (GT-N7100 / GT-N7105)
  • AT&T (SGH-I317)
  • T-Mobile (SGH-T889)
  • Canadian models (starting with SGH-I317 or SGH-T889

How to root Samsung Galaxy S5

  • Switch your Samsung Galaxy S5 completely and boot into Download Mode – check this post to see how to enter into Download mode.
  • Launch Odin on your PC and connect your Samsung Galaxy S5 with the computer.
  • On the Odin menu on your computer, click the AP button and locate the downloaded chainfire root tool with .tar.md5 extension.
  • Do not mess up with any settings in Odin, and hit the Start button to initiate to root Samsung Galaxy S5.
  • When the process completes successfully, your Samsung Galaxy S5 will reboot automatically.
  • You can disconnect your Galaxy S5 from your PC when the SGS5 boot logo appears on the screen.

Check”Auto Reboot” (Reboots your phone automatically after flashing) and”F.Reset Time”(Resets the flash counter after upgrading the firmware). Other options (Re-partition, LED control etc) are selected upon requirement. PIT stands for partition information table, if you press the PIT button, the .pit files can be browsed in the firmware upgrade folder / package files folder, otherwise leave it as it is if there is no .pit files.
